Peg Loom 24"
New and experienced fiber artists of almost any age can enjoy the satisfaction of weaving on these beautiful handcrafted looms.
Peg loom weaving is a fun, easy to learn technique and great for all ages and abilities. It is a basic and ancient form of weaving. While no one knows for sure when these popular and simple looms were first used, some believe that peg loom weaving is a technique used by the early Vikings and European settlers. Peg Looms are so simple to use that anyone can create beautiful and useful woven items, including place-mats, table runners, rugs, doormats, wall hangings, scarves, bags, baskets, blankets, wearable art and more. It is an ideal way to use a variety of yarns, fleece and roving; or up-cycle recycled fabric, t-shirts, and even plastic bags.
With this loom you can weave projects up to 24 inches wide. (See our other listings for looms that are 12 & 36 inches wide.) The width of your project is determined by the number of pegs you use in the loom. The length of the project is determined by the length of your warp threads, and can be any length.
This loom has two sizes of pegs 3/8 inch and 1/4 inch.. The larger pegs are great for bulkier projects like rugs or blankets. The smaller pegs work well with smaller diameter yarn that requires a closer weave. Each peg is rounded at the end to to make weaving easier.
The base can easily be clamped to a table for increased stability, but is sturdy enough to work on your lap.
Each loom includes both large and small pegs - enough for each hole plus two spares, a threader to help thread the warp into the peg holes and an instruction booklet.
